Change for Break Thru Ministries

What's in Your Bedroom?

One of our selected topics in our "Marriage Makeover" seminar is asking the couples to step into their bedroom and close the door. Are you and your spouse drawn there?
What is the atmosphere that is created in your room?
How does it test the five senses?
Is it cluttered? Is there a beautiful bed in the center?
What are the colors? Blue is peaceful, Yellow is cheerful, Green is fresh, Beige is natural, and Red is passionate. Choose colors that are soothing and relaxing to both you and your spouse. These were just a few of the questions asked at our Marriage Makeover seminar this year.
At lunch time, one young attractive lady, Tammy, came to me after lunch. She had run home during lunch to take pictures of her bedroom. She said, "Let me show you what David's idea of a romantic bedroom is."
bedroom

The solution of this problem for Tammy was, "It was better in my bedroom rather than my living room." The purpose for your bedroom is for rest and romance. If possible decorate your bedroom before the rest of the house. Make it a special project for you and your spouse.
Remember the atmosphere created in your bedroom can greatly affect your marriage relationship. Christian marriages should be the best marriages on earth because they are to express the love and intimacy of God through each of you, to one another.
Thank you David and Tammy Kato from "Wings of Faith" for allowing us a few laughs and blessings for the picture of your bedroom.
By Dr. Ouida E Walsh.

Finance Corner
Believe it or not, most pastors or ministries hate to ask for money. They would rather trust God that you and I will be obedient to give. However, we are not always obedient and someone needs to kick-start us into giving. 2 Cor 9:6 states that, "he who sows sparingly reaps sparingly and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully." 2 Cor 9:7 states, "not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." Break Thru Ministries sows bountifully for we always give with a joyful heart.

God used a whale to change the direction of Jonah and a donkey to change the way of Balaam. Well, Ouida and Bud did not want to be changed by a whale or donkey, so they decided to listen to God and make a change. I want you to know that God is patient and he will wait for you, but there comes a time when he uses others like the whale and donkey. He has been speaking to us for some time to change the way we are ministering and I know we have tried his patience.
The irony of the way he brought about change was to bring about what Ouida has wanted since entering the ministry and that is to do more teaching and preaching to the multitudes. Ouida was hunkered down in the counseling center and losing speaking engagements because there was not enough time. As Bud joined her upon his retirement, it began to free Ouida up in the administrative matters of the ministry and her desire to teach and preach began to come back stronger. We both knew that this is what God wanted, but what to do with the counseling center.
God settled the issue. He made us so busy in the latter part of 2005 and the first four months of 2006 that neither of us could keep up with his pace. In May, we decided to be obedient and close the doors of the counseling center on May 31, 2006. We were anxious and afraid, but when that day came everything went so smoothly we knew it was God.
Speaking of busy, let's look at what we have done since last fall. We finished up the fall with a six week seminar on Restoring the Broken Hearted.

The exciting, yet painful testimonies that were presented by Cheryl, Katie, Don, Frank, Danny, Lisa, Kathryn, and Bud were heartwarming and healing. Thank you for truly sharing your hearts!

In January, Dr. Walsh ministered at Plant City Church of God and then did a full day seminar on Restoring the Broken Hearted. Pastor Herrin, his wife Lisa, and 66 hearty souls attended the nine hour seminar. It was a great day and we appreciated the staff and all the participants who attended this seminar. Most of all we appreciate Pastors Robert and Lisa Herrin for their graciousness and support. Thank You!
On March 5th, Dr. Walsh ministered at two services for Tim's Memorial Presbyterian Church in Lutz, Florida. On March 9 and 10, Dr. Walsh presented at a Women's Retreat held by Heritage Christian Center at Lakeside Retreat in Brooksville, Florida. On March 25, we hosted our 4th Annual Golf Tournament which involved two months of work.
April Fool's Day found Dr. Walsh and her husband joining forces with Pastors David and Natalie Bamberry to conduct Marriage Makeover to a large group of couples. What a great day! On May 6, Dr. Walsh ministered at two services at Wings of Faith Fellowship in Ocala, Florida, pastored by Johnny and Annette Johnson.
Dr. Walsh and her husband then conducted a two day marriage seminar on May 19 and 20. There were 68 people registered for the seminar. We were able to see God's blessing. A husband and wife who had separated on Valentine's Day attended and at the end of the seminar, we were all surprised as the husband proposed to his wife and she accepted.
In between May 6 and 20, Dr. Walsh attended a seminar in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, which was preparation for the upcoming Senior Pastor's Wives Retreat in August at which Dr. Walsh will be speaking.

Please Pray For Us
That God would direct and provide translators for the language he would like our book translated in.
That His anointing would be increasingly obvious upon us!
Give us favor and continue to open doors for ministry!
Provide and fulfill our vision he has put into our hearts for the hurting.

Golf Tournament
On March 25, 2006, God was gracious with the weather and we fielded 56 players for the 4th Annual Break Thru Ministries Golf Tournament. The food was outstanding, provided by Hungry Harry's BBQ and everyone had a great time. There were prizes galore and most people left with a smile on their face. The team of Lon Vaughan, Bob Vaughan, Sammy Castellano and Jerry Foley garnered first place honors. All in all, a great time was had and God blessed Break Thru Ministries abundantly through the players and many others who donated money, prizes and time. Thank you everyone!
