Frequently Asked Questions

Dr. Walsh answers Your Questions

Q. Why did you become a minister?
A.
To help others find freedom from a hurtful past through God. I was a successful registered nurse at the height of my career as director of nurses at two local hospitals, yet I found emptiness. After seeking and searching I found wholeness through Jesus Christ and a 12-step program. I then recognized for the first time in my life that I really had something to offer others. I sought out a seminary, then graduate school and finally a doctorate in Christian counseling. I continue to be a speaker for nurses and I always tell them I still do the same thing. As a nurse I tried to help people get healed from medical problems, but now I deal with the psychological side and my orders come from a different doctor - Dr. Jesus.

Q. What's the hardest part of your job?
A.
The hardest part of my job is the frustration of not being able to touch every life.

Q. What's the most rewarding part of your job?
A.
The most rewarding thing is to see people change and share in their new found joy of life.

Q. Is there one religious tract that is especially meaningful for you?
A.
That is 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all Comfort who comforts us in all our tribulations (afflictions, troubles, suffering and distress), that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, by the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."

Q. What would people be surprised to know about you?
A.
They might be surprised to know that I am just like them. I love and enjoy my family and grandchildren. I have a terrible golf score and I love life as hard as it is sometimes.
